Hey there, I noticed you live in Cookeville, TN... I'm not far from you. I live in Dunlap, TN.

I'm currently awaiting my first package of bees that will be placed in a top bar hive I built. I just read through all your posts about your bees and now I'm even more excited.

Thanks for putting the time into these great articles.

David, just as a lark for something new to do, back in 1995 I attended a Bee Keepers open meeting and fell in love with the whole thing. learned about bee mites and bee enemies and how very crucial bees really are to human and earthly life. finding your site was a ray of bee sunshine; along with the great hot house.
but I noticed you have not posted since Nov 2011, hope you do again soon!

I found your website through a tweet on twitter. There's soooo much wrong with the commercial food supply. Organic gardening is absolutely essential for health!

We need to network and strengthen organic production.

Hi:) I'm a fairly novice gardener with 4 small (6 ft x 3 ft) veggie gardens and about that same size flower beds. I've in TN and noticed our beds all looks grey and very powdery this fall. I'm wondering what is the best soil enhancer to put in them to over-winter and nurture them. I don't yet have a compost so will need to buy things. However, we do have goats so can use their "fertilizer" which I separate and keep until it's ready for garden use. Any ideas? I'm thinking of clover and rye but anything I can put IN the soil?
